San Diego police said two teenagers killed three people outside the Islamic Center of San Diego on Monday. The victims included security guard Amin Abdullah, a father of eight, a grocery store owner, and another man. Police stated that Abdullah prevented additional deaths during the attack.

Officers said the two teens wore Nazi symbols and had anti-Islamic writings in their vehicle. One handgun displayed the phrase "race war now" above a swastika. Law enforcement officials stated the teens had been radicalized online and did not discriminate in their targets. They recovered a shotgun with an "SS" sticker and a gas can at the scene.

After the shootings, one suspect shot his companion twice in the head before turning the gun on himself inside a BMW a few blocks away. Both were found dead from self-inflicted wounds. The FBI is examining a livestream video of the incident. Police said the motivations appear connected to the Muslim faith.
