Sandstone Raises $30M Series A for Legal Workflow Automation Platform
Sandstone closed a $30 million Series A round six months after its $10 million seed. The funding will support product development for legal departments at small and mid-sized companies.
app.buzzsumo.comSandstone announced a $30 million Series A funding round on Tuesday. Lightspeed Venture Partners led the round, with participation from Sequoia, Mantis VC, SV Angel, Operator Partners, Kearny Jackson, Daybreak Ventures, Litquidity Ventures, and others. The round follows a $10 million seed round completed in January that Sequoia also led.
Sandstone’s product targets legal departments at small and mid-sized businesses that manage work arriving through multiple channels. “They open up their laptop in the morning, they see all the work that’s come in through different intake channels, whether that’s Slack messages, emails, Jira,” said Jarryd Strydom, co-founder and chief operating officer.
” Sandstone’s platform emphasizes workflow automation and relationship management rather than legal reasoning.
Strydom said the company’s focus on in-house teams allows it to address specialized processes that generalized AI tools often miss. ” The company will compete with offerings from frontier AI labs, including Anthropic’s Claude for Legal tools that added case-law search and deposition-prep features in May.
