Borow said she packed her car and left her home on Trickling Brook Court as thick smoke and high winds moved through the area. She told NBC that visibility dropped so low that two cars collided while trying to exit the neighborhood. Borow said the fire moved through a nearby ravine toward her property and that she feared for her life from smoke inhalation.
Firefighters prevented the main house from burning but a small cabin on a hill was destroyed. Borow said the loss of the cabin was minor compared with surviving the fire. The fire continued to burn Tuesday night with containment efforts ongoing.
