Santander UK has launched a regular saver account that pays 8.00% AER for the first 12 months. The rate includes a 5.00% variable bonus during that period. After 12 months the interest rate falls to a variable 3.00%.
The account is available to all Santander current account customers, including those with the fee-free Everyday account. Customers may deposit up to £200 each month and may withdraw funds at any time without penalty. The minimum opening balance is £1 and each customer is limited to one account. The product becomes available on Tuesday.
Customers with larger sums may seek accounts that accept deposits above £200 per month, though those accounts may carry lower rates. New customers switching to Santander may qualify for a £180 switching incentive, subject to terms and conditions.
