ForbesSAP unveiled its Autonomous Enterprise strategy at Sapphire 2026 in Orlando, its most aggressive repositioning in a generation. The company launched the SAP Business AI Platform, which unifies SAP Business Technology Platform, SAP Business Data Cloud and SAP's AI services into a single governed environment.
At the center sits SAP Knowledge Graph, a semantic layer designed to map relationships between business entities, workflows and operational systems.
SAP launched Joule Studio, an AI-native environment for building enterprise agents and orchestrated workflows. The company also unveiled the SAP Autonomous Suite, which deploys more than 50 domain-specific Joule Assistants and more than 200 specialized AI agents. Unlike traditional AI copilots, these agents can execute operational workflows directly.
The Autonomous Close Assistant can automate journal entries, reconciliation and error resolution during financial close cycles. SAP launched Industry AI, introducing eight autonomous industry solutions. Forbes reported that SAP highlighted work with European energy giant RWE, where AI agents analyze offshore wind turbine incidents, identify likely root causes and generate prefilled maintenance work orders using historical operational data.

Anthropic’s Claude will power Joule agents across HR, procurement and supply chain. NVIDIA’s OpenShell runtime is being embedded directly into SAP’s Business AI Platform.
Amazon Web Services is building zero-copy integration between Amazon Athena and SAP Business Data Cloud. Microsoft is enabling bidirectional agent-to-agent communication between Joule and its own agent frameworks and expanding sovereign cloud support on Azure.
Palantir Technologies is tackling complex, data-heavy transformations for cloud ERP projects, with Accenture serving as a co-innovation partner.

Klein added that business context separates SAP's approach. "The difference is context," he said. " Every action an agent takes in the Autonomous Suite is fully logged, he noted, describing the system as traceability by design.
"We don't want to own the front door by locking people in," Klein said. 60 in July 2025. Following Q1 2026 earnings, SAP shares dipped more than 6% even as cloud revenue grew 27% year over year.
