Scotland's Tartan Army attends Miami Marlins game before World Cup match

Scotland's Tartan Army attended a Miami Marlins game against the Texas Rangers on Monday. The Marlins hosted the supporters group as part of a "Tartan Army ticket package" the team posted on Sunday. The group marched into loanDepot park before the game.

A performance by Nick Morgan took place, and injured Scotland midfielder Billy Gilmour threw the first pitch. The first 250 members of the organization received a voucher for one free beer. Some members played bagpipes on the field, and fans sang and chanted in the stands during the game.

Videos posted to social media showed the fans marching in Little Havana and playing bagpipes near concession stands inside the stadium. One member caught a foul ball. Attendance for the game reached 20,008, the eighth highest for the club this season, according to ESPN Research.

The Marlins previously hosted "Scotland Day" at Fenway Park on June 14 during the team's stay in Boston. Scotland plays Brazil in Miami on Wednesday. A spot in the knockout stages remains on the line for the national team.
