Los Angeles TimesA seagull dropped waste on King Charles III's suit jacket Wednesday while he visited the coastal town of Newcastle in Northern Ireland. The bird also struck nearby members of the press. King Charles said, "It's well it didn't land on my head," according to witness Irene Marting, who spoke with the king shortly after the event.
Marting added that being hit by a seagull is considered good luck.
She said residents were pleased to see the king in Newcastle. King Charles was in the southeast coastal town on the second day of a three-day visit with Queen Camilla.
