Secretary of War Pete Hegseth is scheduled to speak Monday at an event in Hebron, Kentucky, with Ed Gallrein, the Republican candidate challenging Rep. Thomas Massie in Tuesday's primary election. America First Works announced the appearance Sunday. The group said Hegseth and Gallrein will discuss the "Great American Comeback" at the event.
Hayek said the gathering will allow attendees to hear from leaders of the America First movement. She stated that the nation is experiencing a comeback and that participants must continue supporting America First principles. Massie is seeking a ninth term in the House.
He has opposed aspects of the Trump administration's approach to Justice Department files on Jeffrey Epstein and to tariff policy. U.S. military strikes against Iran that began Feb. 28. Trump has endorsed Gallrein and described Massie as ineffective.
Massie did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
