Emergency dispatch audio shows that on June 14, EMS personnel were sent to Sen. Mitch McConnell’s Washington residence after a report of an unconscious patient. The audio was first posted online by journalist Desiree Townsend.

According to the dispatch recording, the call described a patient found unconscious at the senator’s home. Multiple outlets reported that the incident involved a cardiac-arrest response. The Hill stated that medics responded to a report of “cardiac arrest” at the residence. CBS News reported that EMS was called to McConnell’s home for an “unconscious” patient.
McConnell’s office has not released an official statement detailing the medical event or his current condition. The Washington Times reported that his press team said in late June he was receiving excellent care and working with staff, but no further updates on his hospitalization status have been issued publicly.
McConnell, 84, announced in February 2024 that he would not seek re-election after serving seven terms representing Kentucky. He stepped down as Senate Republican leader in January 2025. He currently chairs the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense. His wife, Elaine Chao, served as transportation secretary in President Trump’s first term.
The vessels' operators have not been publicly identified by the U.S. government.
