U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham died on the evening of Saturday, July 11, 2026, at age 71 after a brief and sudden illness. , residence that evening, and medics removed a person on a stretcher to an ambulance.
Trump added that Graham had just returned from Ukraine and sounded tired but otherwise fine. Trump received a message around 1 a.m. Sunday confirming Graham’s death. He described Graham as “like a member of the family” and said the call may have been Graham’s last.
Graham was scheduled to appear on NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday to discuss his recent visit to Kyiv, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Moderator Kristen Welker noted it would have been his 64th appearance on the program. A spokesperson for Graham confirmed the death Sunday morning and requested privacy for the family.
The senator’s official cause of death has not been released.
