Serena Williams will return to professional tennis next week at the Queen’s Club grass-court tournament in London after nearly four years away from competition. The WTA Tour announced Monday that the 23-time Grand Slam singles champion accepted a wild card invitation to play doubles. The Queen’s Club event begins the following Monday.

Return Details Williams has not played a match since the 2022 U.S. Open.

She became eligible to compete again in February after re-registering with tennis’ mandatory anti-doping program six months earlier. Williams has won seven singles titles at the All England Club. WTA chair Valerie Camillo said the organization is “thrilled to welcome her back to the WTA Tour at this hugely exciting moment for women’s tennis.”
