Serena Williams Draws Maya Joint in Wimbledon 2026 First Round
The 44-year-old will return to singles competition at the All England Club as a wild card after nearly four years away. She is also entered in doubles alongside her sister Venus.

Serena Williams is scheduled to play singles at Wimbledon 2026 as a wild card against Maya Joint of Australia in the first round. The match is set for Monday or Tuesday. Joint, ranked world No. 53 and 20 years old, has won one of her past 14 matches.
Williams, 44, will also compete in doubles with Venus Williams. Their match is scheduled for Thursday or Friday. She last played competitively at the US Open in 2022 and re-entered the International Tennis Integrity Agency anti-doping pool in December 2025.
@Forbes reported that Williams has played two doubles matches since beginning her comeback in June 2026. She won her first comeback doubles match at the HSBC Championships before her partner Victoria Mboko withdrew with a knee injury. She then lost in the opening round of the Berlin Open with Karolina Muchova.
Williams has won 23 Grand Slam singles titles, including seven at Wimbledon. A Wimbledon 2026 women's singles winner receives a $4.8 million check.
