Sergio Garcia Damages Club After Bunker Shot, Receives Warning and Apologizes at Masters

# Sergio Garcia's Club Incident at Masters Sergio Garcia smashed his driver in anger during the final round at the Masters on Sunday. He struck his club into the turf twice following a shot that landed in a bunker on the par-five second hole. Garcia then hit a nearby cooler, which snapped the head off his club.

Sergio Garcia was unable to replace his damaged club and played the rest of the round without a driver. Geoff Yang, chairman of the Masters competitions committee, issued a code-of-conduct warning to Garcia on the fourth tee. Garcia posted a three-over-par 75 in the final round and finished the week at eight over par.

Garcia's Performance and Standing Sergio Garcia finished 52nd among the 54 players who made the cut.

Garcia is 46 years old and a former Masters champion who won in 2017. He was paired with Jon Rahm during the final round. Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland won the tournament. McIlroy became the fourth man to win successive Masters titles.
