Seventeen’s Joshua Hong attends UNESCO event and Paris Fashion Week during group hiatus

Joshua Hong of Seventeen attended a UNESCO youth initiative event on Thursday morning before appearing at Paris Fashion Week later the same day. Business Insider reported that the appearances were his first scheduled activities after the group announced an extended hiatus. Half of the nine active members must complete South Korea's mandatory military service.
Around a third of the members will continue limited activities until a planned group comeback in 2028. Hong, the band's key American member and one of its two English speakers, was selected to represent Seventeen at the UNESCO event. Hong told Business Insider that the youth initiative is a collective effort that opened a variety of doors for participants to think creatively and develop their own solutions.
He added that he is excited to see how he will grow as an artist while sharing positive energy with people. The same day, Vernon and The8 released the V8 mini album, the first unit project during the hiatus. They held a listening party in Seoul's Itaewon district on June 28 and plan arena performances across Asia.
Dino is scheduled to debut under the name Picheolin on August 3. Seungkwan and DK will conclude their Serenade concert tour in Kaohsiung on July 26.
