Sheffield Wednesday signed goalkeeper Joe Lumley on a free transfer from Bristol City, bbc.co.uk reported. The 31-year-old agreed to a two-year contract at Hillsborough. Lumley had a short loan spell with the club last season in which he appeared in two matches.
He began his career at Queens Park Rangers, where he recorded 77 appearances before departing in 2021. He later played for Middlesbrough and Southampton. "I jumped at the chance to come here," Lumley told the club website.
"I was here last season and just got a feeling within that time of the set-up of the club, how big the club is, how passionate the fans are. " The club avoided a further 15-point penalty for the League One season after a takeover completed in May, bbc.co.uk reported.
