Shenzhen-based aircraft developer Yivtol obtained a cross-border insurance policy for its electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, South China Morning Post reported. The policy carries a total liability of HK$20 million and covers a one-year period ending in June 2027. The Shenzhen branch of the People’s Insurance Company of China Group conducted the risk assessment and underwriting.
Its Hong Kong unit handled local compliance and issued the formal policy, according to a Shenzhen government social media post. The coverage applies to Yivtol’s S-Zero, a one-seater aircraft with a maximum payload of 90 kg. It permits flights of no more than 50 minutes at a top speed of 75 km/h.
Under Hong Kong aviation regulations, an aircraft requires compliant insurance before it can take off or land in the city. The policy meets Hong Kong’s insurance requirement for the aircraft.
