Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos warned that online posts circulating about the investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance and containing QR codes that request money are fraudulent, New York Post reported. Nanos posted on X that PCSD will never ask for any money related to this case, or any investigation. Authorities told the public not to send money to strange accounts they do not know.
Nanos added that anyone who sees one of these posts should ignore it and report it. The 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie, has been missing since early February after being taken from her home in Tucson, Arizona. Her absence has now lasted nearly five months.
No arrests have been made and no suspects have been publicly identified in the case, New York Post reported.
