The message spread within minutes through private Signal groups, where participants using aliases arranged carpools, supplies and medical support. Fox News Digital reviewed Signal messages, tax filings and social media posts showing that about 100 organizations participated in the planning.
The organizations reported combined annual revenues of approximately $825 million. Roughly 70 hold IRS designations as 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), 501(c)(5) or 501(c)(6) entities.
" Signal users discussed food, water, bike racks, tents and protective equipment such as goggles and respirators. One participant warned others against using real names in the chat. Another asked whether a lead organizer had approved the protest.
Prior investigations Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and members of the House Ways and Means, Judiciary and Oversight committees have opened reviews into whether nonprofit rules have been used to support political conflict. The groups named in the coverage did not respond to requests for comment.
