Siloam Mission announced Monday that CEO Sonia Prevost-Derbecker will step down after three months in the position. The Winnipeg homeless shelter said the departure coincides with the next phase of an organizational support plan and leadership transition.
Board chair Tracey Silagy stated that Prevost-Derbecker was hired to lead during a difficult period and helped advance operational and funding work. Those efforts, Silagy said, will continue to sustain the organization through the transition.
Prevost-Derbecker's exit marks the fourth CEO change at Siloam Mission since 2021. The organization will bring in a temporary local executive support team next week to work with leadership for six months. The team will focus on financial oversight, operations, governance, and charitable revenue development.
