Simone Biles posted a photo of her arm with three hospital wristbands to Instagram stories on Saturday, June 6, and wrote that she experienced a health incident earlier in the week in which she almost died. " She stated that the episode was "one of, if not the scariest experience of my life," noting that her husband, NFL safety Jonathan Owens, was at training camp with the Indianapolis Colts when it occurred.
Biles and Owens live in a home they custom-built in Spring, Texas, a suburb of Houston.
She said she has been in bed resting this week and will "explain sooner or later" what happened. " Biles won four medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, including three gold. She is a seven-time Olympic gold medalist.
She withdrew from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after experiencing the twisties, a term for feeling disoriented while performing, and has since become an advocate for mental health awareness. Owens previously played for the Houston Texans from 2019-2022 before spending time with the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears.
