Singer Reveals She Carries Preserved Placenta In Necklace
A performer described carrying a preserved piece of her own placenta as a spiritual object on a May 6 podcast episode. The individual's mother preserved the placenta after birth by drying it in an oven and storing it, according to the account. The performer also collects human and animal teeth to create art and jewelry.
sana.syA singer told listeners on a May 6 podcast episode that she carries a preserved portion of her placenta with her at all times. The performer said her mother fought hospital staff to keep the placenta after birth, then preserved it by placing it in an oven, wrapping it in a box and storing it in a basement.
The object was later rediscovered when the performer was 21 years old. The performer said she believes the placenta provides spiritual benefits including second sight and opening the third eye, citing her mother's views. She described the process of turning the dried placenta into wearable form by blending it and placing the material in a heart-shaped pendant on a long chain that resembles a necklace.
"So your placenta supposedly gives you second sight, helps open your third eye," the performer said on the podcast. "This is according to my mother. So she stuck it in the oven. " The performer added that she values rituals connected to an esoteric worldview.
She contrasted everyday life on Earth with what she described as a preferred realm involving spirit guides and angels. "I love a good ritual. Right? Like, I’m a cult leader … And I just, I love a ritual that reminds me of this, like, esoteric world I prefer to live in," the performer said.
The same performer told the podcast host that she also collects human and animal teeth. She creates art and jewelry from them, saying the items serve as reminders of people she loves. The collection includes teeth from her cats that were removed by a veterinarian as well as teeth sent by fans.
The performer said she is making a coffee table that will incorporate a bowl filled with teeth from the collection. She invited additional contributions from the public to add to the project. "It just reminds me when I have a little piece of the people I love," the performer explained.
"I’ve been collecting them for a while now, and I make art out of them. I have, my cats had to get their little teeth taken out because they were, I don’t know. They’re little kitty wisdom teeth. I collect those too.
