Bryce Harper will participate in the Home Run Derby in Philadelphia on Monday night, ESPN reported. The Phillies first baseman joins St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Jordan Walker, Boston's Willson Contreras, Kansas City's Jac Caglianone, Tampa Bay's Junior Caminero and the New York Yankees' Ben Rice.
Harper announced his entry Wednesday on Instagram, writing "Derby at home? 261 with 20 home runs and 57 RBIs and was selected for his ninth All-Star Game as a Legend Pick. Harper last won the competition in 2018 in Washington as a member of the Nationals.
Walker, a 24-year-old first-time All-Star and 2020 first-round draft pick, hit his 22nd home run on Thursday. 893 OPS and MLB-leading 73 RBIs. Three participants have not been announced.
