U.S. housing markets had median listing prices below $300,000 in April. Each of those markets also posted growth in active listings compared with the same month in 2025. Pittsburgh recorded the lowest median listing price at $248,625, followed by Detroit at $248,900. Cleveland, Buffalo, St. Louis, and Birmingham completed the list.

The National Association of Home Builders noted increased builder confidence this spring, while overall home construction has slowed amid higher material and labor costs.
