Kwak Noh-jung, chief executive officer of SK hynix, is expected to meet Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and CEO Satya Nadella in the United States this week. Industry sources said Kwak will attend the Microsoft CEO Summit 2026, which begins on May 12, 2026, at Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond, Washington.

The summit is a private networking event open only to selected guests who receive invitations.

Kwak previously attended the event in 2024, Yonhap reported. Kwak is also expected to attend a formal dinner hosted by Gates at his residence. The gathering had been suspended for several years before recently resuming, according to Yonhap.

The meetings are expected to further strengthen the strategic partnership between Microsoft and SK hynix, particularly in the supply of high bandwidth memory, or HBM. Microsoft is a major customer of SK hynix for dynamic random access memory, or DRAM, and NAND flash products.

SK hynix's fifth-generation HBM3E chips are currently used in Microsoft's latest artificial intelligence accelerator chip, Maia 200.

Yonhap reported that the ties reflect broader cooperation in the fast-growing AI sector. A photo of him was provided by the company in an undated file image. The article detailing Kwak's travel plans was published on May 12, 2026, Yonhap reported.
