Snapchat Introduces Place Loyalty Feature on Snap Map for Frequent Visitors
Snapchat has launched a new Place Loyalty feature that ranks users based on visit frequency to locations over the past year. Users can earn badges and share rankings if they opt to share their location. The update builds on Snap Map's growth, which now exceeds 400 million monthly active users.

TechCrunch reported that users in the top 25% of visitors to a certain place will see their ranking on Snap Map and can choose to share it with others. Those in the top 1% receive a gold badge, top 10% get silver, and top 25% earn bronze.
Snapchat aggregates visits across all locations for brands and chains. Badges are only visible if users choose to share their location with Snapchat. Place Loyalty rankings are only visible to the individual user.
Snap Map, launched in 2017, has evolved to help users discover local hotspots and activities. Snapchat announced last year that Snap Map has surpassed 400 million monthly active users. Instagram launched its Instagram Map last year, competing with Snap Map's features.
Snapchat rolled out Promoted Places on Snap Map last year, allowing brands to advertise locations. In 2025, Snapchat launched the Footsteps feature, which lets users see how much of the world they have explored and track where they have traveled.
