These interactions allow users to ask questions and get recommendations from the AI agents. TechCrunch reported that brands can bring their own AI agents onto the Snapchat platform.
Sponsored Snaps appear as ads placed directly into Snapchat’s main Chat tab. Until now, users could not interact with these ads, but the new AI format changes that by integrating personalized, AI-powered conversations. Snapchat has nearly one billion monthly active users who can now access this feature.
Over half a billion users have messaged Snapchat’s AI chatbot since it launched in 2023. The company stated that 85% of Snapchat users engage regularly in the Chat feed. Users sent over 950 billion chats in Q1 2026.
Ajit Mohan, Chief Business Officer at Snap, described the shift in advertising. He added, “AI is accelerating that shift, turning chat into the place where people discover products, ask questions, and make decisions in real time.
Sponsored Snaps drive 22% more conversions, according to Snapchat. They also have nearly 20% lower cost per action. The new AI version builds on this momentum by fostering engagement and purchases through direct chats.
Among teen users, 57% message others daily on Snapchat. These usage patterns underscore the platform's focus on conversational features.
