Three socialist candidates backed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani won their primaries in New York districts on Tuesday, Fox News reported. Bruce Blakeman, the Republican candidate for New York governor who is seeking to unseat Gov. Kathy Hochul, spoke to Fox News Digital the night after the primaries.
Blakeman received President Donald Trump's endorsement earlier this year. "The lunatic left has taken over the Democratic Party," Blakeman said. " Blakeman stated that progressive candidates have offered voters unrealistic promises.
"They've offered everybody free stuff," he said. " He predicted that traditional Democrats would support Republicans in the election. "The traditional Democrats are going to vote for Republicans this year," Blakeman said.
Blakeman described Hochul and Mamdani as aligned. "They're in league together," he said.
