Staff Sgt. Adam Tzarfati, 20, died Monday when a Hezbollah drone exploded near troops in southern Lebanon. One soldier was severely wounded and two others lightly wounded in the same incident.
citizen.co.zaStaff Sgt. Adam Tzarfati, 20, from Rosh Ha'ayin, was killed Monday in a Hezbollah drone explosion in southern Lebanon, military officials announced. Tzarfati served in the Maglan Unit of the Commando Brigade. One soldier suffered severe wounds and two others received light wounds during the same attack; all three were evacuated by helicopter for treatment and their families were notified.
Tzarfati is the third soldier killed by Hezbollah drones in the past five days. On Sunday, military officials reported that Staff Sgt. Michael Tyukin, 21, from Ashkelon, died in a similar drone explosion; four other soldiers were lightly wounded. Tyukin served in the Givati Brigade’s Reconnaissance Battalion.
An initial investigation indicated the drone lacked night-vision equipment, and officials are examining whether troops’ known route or moonlight aided the strike.
