Spanish police arrested the son of Mango founder Isak Andic this week in connection with his father's death. A judge in Martorell near Barcelona said there was enough evidence to treat the death as non-accidental with active participation by the son.

The 71-year-old founder fell about 150 meters from a cliff in Montserrat natural park on 14 December 2024. The two men were hiking together on a route near Collbató when the incident occurred.

Police initially treated the case as an accident.

Investigators later questioned the son for three hours and formally placed him under investigation in October 2025. The judge pointed to several inconsistencies. A footmark at the site did not match a simple slip. The position of the body and injuries appeared inconsistent with an accidental fall, according to a forensic report.

Three visits on 7, 8 and 10 December raised suspicions of planning. The son posted €1 million in bail after his arrest. He maintains his innocence and told police his relationship with his father was good. The family issued a statement saying there is no legitimate evidence against him.

His lawyer said the homicide theory does not hold up. Mango employs more than 16,000 people and reported turnover of €3.3 billion in 2024. The son and his two sisters share control of a holding company with a 95 percent stake in the brand.
