Sony presented new gameplay footage of Marvel's Wolverine during its State of Play presentation on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. The seven-minute segment showed the character Logan, dressed in the iconic yellow Wolverine outfit, moving through environments and using his blades to stab and eliminate enemies. Combat sequences appeared weighty and satisfying, with red blood visible throughout the fights.

The Verge reported that the game is extremely bloody. Marvel's Wolverine launches exclusively on PS5 on September 15, 2026. Sony and Insomniac Games first announced the project in 2021, showed initial gameplay in a September 2025 State of Play, and revealed the official release date in February 2026.

Insomniac Games previously developed the Spider-Man game that launched on PS4 in 2018, followed by the spinoff Spider-Man: Miles Morales and the sequel Spider-Man 2.
