Anker received a Guinness World Record for its Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro earbuds for the highest speech quality score among true wireless stereo headphones, as measured by an independent laboratory. The record recognizes the earbuds' Whisper Clear call feature. This system uses eight microphones, a 10-sensor matrix, and neural network processing to separate the user's voice from surrounding noise.
Anker states the record was achieved with the first earbuds to include a dedicated on-board AI hardware accelerator. The company calls the component the Thus AI chip and says it provides 150 times more computing power than the chip in the Liberty 4 Pro model.
Jocelyn Qian, Anker's UK country manager, said the chip was designed in-house by a team in Germany to balance performance with battery life. The chip processes calls, noise cancellation, audio enhancement, and local voice commands.
The Liberty 5 Pro also includes Hear ID AI sound enhancement, which the company says restores 65 percent of audio quality typically lost over Bluetooth. Voice commands are processed on the device rather than in the cloud, resulting in response times three times faster than standard systems.
