Voters in South Carolina went to the polls Tuesday in primaries for a U.S. Senate seat and the governor's office. Polls close at 7 p.m. EDT.

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham is expected to advance from the GOP Senate primary as he seeks a fourth term. He faces Mark Lynch on the Republican ballot. On the Democratic side, pediatrician Annie Andrews leads the field.

Republicans are competing to replace term-limited Gov. Henry McMaster. Donald Trump has endorsed McMaster's lieutenant governor, Pamela Evette, who has led in most recent polls. State Attorney General Alan Wilson has received support from state attorneys general across the country.

Wilson also gained national attention as a prosecutor in the case against Alex Murdaugh. Nancy Mace, a U.S. representative and the first woman to graduate from the Citadel, has also drawn strong support. A U.S. representative from South Carolina and a businessman are also running in the Republican primary.

On the Democratic side, a state representative and former professional basketball player is the front-runner. A personal-injury lawyer from Charleston and a businessman from Greenville who worked in the Clinton Administration are also running.
