South Korea has completed construction of a scientific research facility in the East Sea, Yonhap reported June 9. The Wangdol-cho base stands 53 meters tall and sits about 25 km east of Hupo, a seaside port near Uljin in North Gyeongsang Province. It is the nation's fourth marine observation facility and the first built in the East Sea.
