South Korea to Submit First Voluntary National Review on UN Sustainable Development Goals Since 2016
The Bureau for Sustainable Development will hold its first meeting on the report Thursday and submit it to the United Nations in 2027. Officials said the review aims to assess the country's progress on the 17 SDGs adopted in 2015 while sharing lessons internationally. It will be South Korea's first such report since 2016.

The report will be submitted to the United Nations in 2027. South Korea's first VNR report was submitted in 2016. Yonhap reported that the government is preparing the VNR report to comprehensively check on South Korea's sustainable development situation.
It also aims to share achievements and lessons with the international community so as to promote transparency and accountability in implementing SDGs and strengthen global partnerships, the Office for Government Policy Coordination said in a statement.
N. adopted the 17 SDGs in 2015. The goals include no poverty, zero hunger, and good health and well-being. Beyond simply checking on the implementation situation, the report will include objective and vivid content by finding exemplary policy cases of central and regional governments.
