South Korean defense firm LIG Defense & Aerospace opened a photo exhibition Friday at the War Memorial of Korea in Seoul to mark the service of veterans from the 1950-53 Korean War. " It displays photographs by two contributors: one who has documented veterans inside and outside South Korea, and another who photographed surviving veterans in France, Britain and Turkey.
One photographer, the grandson of a Korean War veteran, began documenting veterans and their families in New Zealand in March as part of a project conducted with the company. The second photographer presented images printed on traditional Korean paper to recognize the veterans' contribution to South Korea's security.
The company said the exhibition coincides with the 50th anniversary of its founding. A company executive stated that honoring the veterans is especially meaningful at this time. The exhibition is open to the public at the War Memorial of Korea through mid-July.
