South Korean Forces Use Netting on Logistics Platform in Joint Exercise

The images depict what appears to be anti-drone netting on a ship-to-shore floating platform used during Combined Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore 26.
CJLOTS 26 tested the delivery of supplies from an offshore vessel without existing pier infrastructure.
The exercise integrated U.S. and Republic of Korea lighterage and ship-to-shore connector capabilities. U.S. Forces Korea/Combined Forces Command stated that the training integrated five types of ground, maritime and air sustainment assets.
It also strengthened protection measures for sustainment nodes against threats such as hostile drone attacks. The Improved Navy Lighterage System is a sea state three capable causeway system of interchangeable modules used to transfer cargo from Military Sealift Command ships to shore areas where conventional port facilities are unavailable.
A Pentagon handbook published by the Joint Interagency Task Force 401 states that obstacles such as fencing, netting, or overhead structures can alter drone flight paths and degrade control links.
The task force, established in August 2025, called in February 2026 for increased use of netting, cables, and other passive physical defenses. Similar netting has appeared in other forces. Israeli troops used it against Hezbollah FPV drone attacks in Lebanon.
