Foreign Minister Cho Hyun will meet Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on Thursday to review November summit follow-up measures and discuss regional issues. First Vice Foreign Minister Park Yoon-joo will also hold talks with New Zealand Deputy Secretary Bede Corry the same day.
YonhapForeign Minister Cho Hyun is scheduled to meet Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Thursday to discuss bilateral cooperation and regional issues, Seoul's foreign ministry said Tuesday. The two ministers will review progress on follow-up measures from the summit between South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held in November, the ministry said.
They will also address bilateral and other key issues during the session.
The visit marks the first trip by a Turkish foreign minister to South Korea in five years, according to the ministry. Cho previously shook hands with Fidan during a meeting in Ankara on Jan. 21, 2026.
Separately, First Vice Foreign Minister Park Yoon-joo will hold talks with New Zealand Deputy Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Trade Bede Corry on Thursday. The two officials are expected to discuss economic security, defense cooperation, and regional and international affairs.
South Korea and New Zealand elevated their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership during a summit held on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit last year.
Foreign Minister Cho Hyun has also held a series of one-on-one talks with 11 African counterparts on cooperation and development issues.
