South Korean police are seeking an arrest warrant for YouTuber Kim Se-ui, who authorities say used artificial intelligence to create false evidence against actor Kim Soo-hyun. Authorities allege the YouTuber generated an audio file with AI and manipulated screenshots of text messages to suggest Kim Soo-hyun had dated actress Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor.

The material was posted online months after Kim Sae-ron died by suicide at age 24.

The claims first appeared last year and gained traction after the YouTuber shared the audio and screenshots. Kim Sae-ron's family publicly supported the posts at the time. Kim Soo-hyun initially denied any relationship, then stated the two had dated for one year after she reached adulthood. At a March 2025 press conference he said he had never dated her while she was underage.

Soo-hyun filed criminal complaints and lawsuits against the YouTuber and the actress's family in March 2025. He has not made public appearances since and his upcoming Disney+ series Knock-Off has been postponed indefinitely. Police state the YouTuber spread the material for financial gain and that his actions damaged Kim Soo-hyun's career and required the actor to receive ongoing psychiatric treatment.

Kim Se-ui has posted a video denying the police allegations.
