President Lee Jae Myung's approval rating first reached 69 percent in the fourth week of March 2026, representing the highest level in National Barometer Survey polls since his inauguration in June 2025.
Support for the ruling Democratic Party stood at 48 percent in the survey, up 1 percentage point from the previous poll, while backing for the main opposition People Power Party fell to 15 percent, down 3 percentage points and the lowest level under the current administration.
In the survey, 58 percent of respondents said voters should support the Democratic Party for stability in the June 3, 2026 local elections, while 30 percent said they should back the opposition to keep the government in check.
