Southern California ZIP Code Leads U.S. Housing Growth From 2014 to 2023

Housing units in Chino's 91708 ZIP code increased 1,318 percent between 2014 and 2023, the largest gain recorded in a national analysis of ZIP-code growth. The same area saw its population rise 402 percent over the nine-year period. Median resident age stands at 33, average household income is listed at $109,000, and 73 percent of households are married, according to U.S. Census figures cited in the report.

The expansion is tied to The Preserve at Chino development, which occupies 5,435 acres of former agricultural land. Roughly half of the site is designated for residential, commercial, industrial, and airport-related uses. Two additional Southern California ZIP codes appear on the list.

Irvine's 92618 ranked 20th nationally after its housing stock grew 172 percent, while Los Angeles's 90094 recorded 115 percent housing growth linked to Playa Vista construction that began in 2002.

California placed third among states with ZIP codes in the national top 50. Texas recorded 17 such ZIP codes and Colorado recorded seven.
