Southern Poverty Law Center Report Describes Source Inside Patriot Front

The Southern Poverty Law Center published a May 2025 intelligence report stating it had received information from a source close to Patriot Front. The report described the source providing contact details for the group's leader and audio messages between members.

The source supplied the SPLC with personal contact information for Patriot Front's leader, Thomas Rousseau, and audio messages between Kieran Morris and Rhett Loftis. The messages were posted to Telegram in early 2024.

In the report, the SPLC stated that Patriot Front was secretly controlling active clubs across the country. Leaked chat logs obtained by Unicorn Riot showed Patriot Front members discussing recruitment and financial difficulties from late 2020 onward.

A December 2021 conversation among Patriot Front members included a statement that the group had remained between 220 and 230 members for nearly a year. Members also reported purchasing branded materials from Rousseau at a markup.

The SPLC faces federal fraud charges alleging it paid operatives to infiltrate right-wing organizations. Prosecutors say the organization diverted more than $4 million in donor funds to finance undercover operations. Patriot Front members marched in Washington, D.C., on July 4, 2026.

A lawmaker called for an investigation into the group following the march. The Washington Examiner contacted the SPLC and Patriot Front for comment.
