Sequoia led its first investment into SpaceX in 2019 and has invested over $1 billion in the company. It also invested $800 million in X and xAI.
Shaun Maguire, ranked No. 22 on the 2026 Forbes Midas List, led the Sequoia investment. a16z led a $750 million round into SpaceX at a $137 billion valuation in January 2023. After the merger of SpaceX, X, and xAI, the firm owns around $11 billion of SpaceX stock.
