SpaceX released new renderings of its AI1 satellite. The design includes a 150 kW peak compute payload and supports modules from any chip vendor. High-speed laser links connect it to Starlink for data transmission.
medianama.comSpaceX has produced new renderings of its AI satellite designated AI1. @SawyerMerritt reported the details, which show a design that is chip-vendor agnostic and supports compute modules from any provider. The satellite carries a 150 kW peak compute payload and a 120 kW average compute payload.
It delivers 70 kW per ton. The structure measures 70 meters in wingspan and 20 meters in deployed height. AI1 includes 110 square meters of deployable liquid radiator along with redundant pumping loops and integrated micrometeoroid shielding.
It also carries a 150 kW solar array rated at 250 W per square meter. High-speed laser links interconnect satellites and beam AI results back to Earth through Starlink.
