The company conducted 165 orbital launches in 2025, carrying more than three thousand individual payloads. That total represented more than half of all orbital launches worldwide.
SpaceX operates the Starlink satellite network, which provides global communications infrastructure. The company also includes xAI, which focuses on artificial intelligence development. The public offering valued SpaceX at 105 times its 2025 revenue. The company carries substantial debt tied to its AI initiatives and faces governance questions.
The offering created an estimated 4,400 millionaires among current and former SpaceX employees. Four hundred of those individuals hold shares valued above $100 million. The Wall Street Journal editorial board stated that SpaceX could not succeed without its workers and that financial rewards encourage investment in companies that benefit the broader economy.
