SpaceXAI Replaces xAI Name After February Acquisition by SpaceX

XAI has been rebranded to SpaceXAI. The company's X account changed its handle to @SpaceXAI on Monday, July 6, 2026, and posted a video showing the xAI logo being folded into the new SpaceXAI logo, Business Insider reported. SpaceX acquired xAI in February 2026, including its chatbot Grok and X.

Elon Musk said in May 2026 that xAI would be dissolved as a separate company and folded into SpaceX, with AI products branded as SpaceXAI. The rebrand follows SpaceX's IPO in June 2026, which raised $75 billion at a valuation of approximately $1.77 trillion.

SpaceX's capital expenditures on AI totaled $12.7 billion in 2025, more than three times its spending on space and connectivity segments including Starlink.

SpaceX stated that its AI segment has been a net loss but described the total addressable market as the largest in human history. The company plans to deploy AI compute satellites, described as data centers in space, as early as 2028. Anthropic agreed to pay SpaceX $1.25 billion per month for access to compute power at its Colossus data centers.

Google agreed to pay SpaceX $920 million per month for AI infrastructure access.
