Spigen and Pela Release Retro-Themed iPhone 17 Pro Cases
Two accessory makers introduced iPhone 17 Pro cases styled after a 1984 Macintosh computer and an audio cassette. The Spigen Classic LS and Pela Black Cassette cases are now available for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models.
forbes.comSpigen introduced the Classic LS case and matching accessories that replicate the appearance of the 1984 Apple Macintosh 128K. The polycarbonate and thermoplastic polyurethane case features gray plastic coloring, a disk-drive slot, keyboard-style buttons, and an engraved "hello" startup message.
The Classic LS line also includes a wrist strap, MagSafe wallet, and an AirPods Pro case cover shaped like the original Macintosh mouse.
99 case is compatible with MagSafe chargers and provides raised edges around the display and camera. Pela released the Black Cassette case, which reproduces the look of an audio cassette tape. The case is manufactured in British Columbia from flax shive and a plant-based biopolymer described as compostable.
Pela states that its cases are BPA-free and that the company donates proceeds to environmental organizations including Save the Waves, Ocean Conservancy, and the WWF. The Black Cassette model is priced at $75 with MagSafe support. Both cases are listed for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The Spigen Classic LS has sold out on the manufacturer's site at times and remains available through third-party retailers.
