Spotify introduced a new AI app called Studio by Spotify Labs that generates personalized daily briefings, podcasts, and playlists. The app uses listening history and connected data sources to create content through chatbot prompts.
indiatoday.intoday.inSpotify released a new standalone AI application called Studio by Spotify Labs. The app generates daily briefings, podcasts, and playlists on personal computers using chatbot prompts. The AI-generated content draws from users' Spotify listening history and information from connected apps such as email inboxes, calendars, and notes.
Spotify stated that the AI can also take action on users' behalf, including researching topics, using a web browser, organizing information, and helping complete tasks.
Any content generated in Studio can be saved to a user's Spotify library. The app will launch in the coming weeks as a research preview for users 18 and older. Spotify is also introducing a chatbot for Premium users that can answer questions about podcasts, such as finding timestamps for specific topics in an episode.
The company recently began allowing users to save AI-generated podcasts from other services to their libraries. Next month, Spotify plans to launch Personal Podcasts, which generates AI episodes based on user prompts directly inside the Spotify app.
The company stated that the new Studio app is intended only for generating briefings, podcasts, and playlists, not music.
