Holders St Mirren opened their Premier Sports Cup defense with a 4-0 win over Dumbarton. Samuel Ramos scored twice, Chris Mochrie added a third and Thomas Falconer completed the scoring. Greenock Morton lost 1-0 at home to Linlithgow Rose after Calum Rae scored in the 58th minute.
Dunfermline Athletic fell 3-0 to East Kilbride, with Lewis McGrattan, Finlay Gray and Cameron Elliott on target. Dundee came from behind twice to beat Airdrieonians 4-2. Kian Taylor and Sam Fisher scored for Airdrieonians before Charlie Reilly, Ethan Hamilton, Joe Bevan and Ashley Hay replied for Dundee.
Falkirk defeated Edinburgh City 5-0 with Ross MacIver scoring a hat-trick. Ayr United came from behind twice to win 3-2 against Stranraer, with Ross Taylor scoring twice. Dundee United needed a stoppage-time penalty from Zac Sapsford, set up by 16-year-old debutant Cohen Leiper, to beat Stirling Albion 1-0.
Arbroath defeated Spartans 2-1 after Ryan Flynn scored five minutes from time. Partick Thistle beat Brechin City 6-0, with Gary Mackay-Steven scoring twice. Stenhousemuir defeated Forfar Athletic 2-0 through goals from Lewis Hodgkiss and Matthew Aitken.
Ross County won 4-1 at Annan Athletic, with Brian Graham scoring twice. Hamilton Academical beat Peterhead 1-0 through Cian Newbury. Raith Rovers defeated Elgin City 3-1. Queen's Park came from behind to beat Brora Rangers 3-1.
Kelty Hearts drew 1-1 with Queen of the South and won the penalty shoot-out. Inverness Caledonian Thistle drew 1-1 with East Fife and won their shoot-out 5-3.
