Moody, a 19-year-old player, competed in his debut at the World Snooker Championship on Monday evening. He held a 7-3 lead against defending champion Kyren Wilson in their first-round match at the Crucible in Sheffield. Wilson, 34, then won the next seven frames consecutively, resulting in a 10-7 victory.
Wilson had won the championship in 2024. Following the win, Wilson advanced to the second round to face Mark Allen on Thursday. Moody did not advance.
After the match, Moody spoke to TNT Sports about the loss.
He stated, "I'm gutted. I felt like I had the match won at 7-3."

He explained, "I was just at a point where I thought, I don't care anymore. I've lost too many bad frames. I might as well just go for it and see what happens. I rattled it and if it goes in, I might win 10-9, but it didn't." TNT Sports expert Alan McManus commented on the match. He stated, "It's a harsh lesson this."
