The Pittsburgh Steelers have dismissed senior special teams assistant Derius Swinton II for a violation of club policy. The team did not specify the exact nature of the violation. A team source described the action as resulting from workplace misconduct.

Swinton joined the Steelers earlier this year as part of the new coaching staff. He had previously worked with the Las Vegas Raiders from 2023 to 2025, serving as interim special teams coordinator in his final season there. Before that, Swinton held the special teams coordinator position with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2021.

He also worked as an assistant with the Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs and St. Swinton did not respond to a request for comment.
